Mexico is located in the northern region of the American continent between the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west.

It is bordered by the United States on the north and by Guatemala and Belize on the south. Because of its geographical location, Mexico is an ideal place to make businesses with Nort America, Latin America and Europe.

It is the first Latin American country and the fourth among the emergent economies in receiving direct foreign investment.

Mexico offers the heritage of Hispanic and millenary civilizations, both symbols of national identity, as well as the beauty of its beaches, large and modern cities, extensive natural areas with historical elements that make them unique in the world, and more.

In 2009 and 2010 Mexicans and Japanese celebrate 400 years since the first contacts between their peoples. Since the 17th Century, Mexicans and Japanese have strengthened their economic, political and cultural ties.

At the same time they have built a friendship based on mutual understanding and cooperation. Mexicans and Japanese have acknowledged their differences and learned from each other over the past years.

We have both a strong friendship and a comprehensive relation sustained in mutual understanding and shared values. Now is time to strive for a lasting economic, political and cultural partnership as we face numerous opportunities in the years ahead.
