The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Institute for International Co-operation and the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom have the pleasure to present Meet Mexico, an educational project addressed to the children and youth of Great Britain through which you will be able to make a virtual journey to our country and to know its people, culture and artistic expressions, history, geography, government and economy.

We are certain this project is so far one of the best information sources on "the net" about Mexico. The Internet gives literally millions of people access to a wealth of stored information and other resources, and thanks to that, our project is free for everyone connected to the network.

This project was born from the idea of teaching young English speakers about Mexico and to meet a larger request on information about our country.

Extensive research was performed for the project, and experts on the different subject areas revised the information included in Meet Mexico to ensure that the document provides a reliable reference source.

Meet Mexico offers lively, illustrated information about all aspects of Mexican culture, history and life today in an easy and exciting way. It includes 17 sections, covering geography, history and economy as well as Mexico’s education system, its food, festivals, arts, music and dance.

Meet Mexico was originally designed as separate printed brochures presented in an attractive folder. As the package started to be distributed, there was an enthusiastic response from many teachers in the UK, who have been extremely grateful to receive such a comprehensive package. They are clearly stimulated by the material and this enthusiasm is certainly being transmitted to the children they teach.

In producing Meet Mexico, the aim was always to keep the information simple, direct and entertaining, in the hope that the readers were stimulated.
